Description

Wind up this axe warrior skeleton and watch him trying to break free from the post to keep fighting. Even without any muscles, he can still swing hard enough to make the post move. He’s a warrior to the bone and his fighting spirit lives forever.

It’s a great toy for the Halloween. But it can be played anytime of the year when a spooky vibe is called for.

Furthermore, this is a mechanical toy which offers a welcome break from video games. Specifically it employs the escapement mechanism which is used in mechanical watches and clocks. The simple open design allows one to clearly see how escapement works while entertaining at the same time.

A full wind-up provides over one minute of swinging time, not bad for a toy that’s 100% 3D printed, including the coil that stores the winding power.

Easily print with PLA. No support is needed. All parts come with the correct orientation on the build plate. The three 3MF print profiles (3MF files) can save the time setting up plates, but please download and read the instructions.

Total print time is about 4.5 hours on fast coreXY printers and 19.5 hours on regular cartesian printers.

Easy assembly. Instructions for printing, assembling, and use are in a PDF file, among the STL files in the zip for download. Photos are extensively used in the step-by-step instructions for easy following.

The toy is 8.125 inches (206 mm) tall.

Warning: This toy contains small parts that are choking hazards for children and pets.

From the designer: Just noticed that what I named Plate 2 is called Plate 3 by the system, and what I named Plate 3 is called Plate 2 by the system. This doesn't affect printing, but want to point this out.
