Description

NEW IMPROVED VERSIN HERE!!!

HEPA and activate carbon filter for X1, X1C or P1S

I wanted a filter for my Bambu Lab printer that combined HEPA and activated carbon filter (EAC- Extruded activated carbon). I have design my own version that use a cheap (about 1,2€ on amazon) hepa filter and refillable activated carbon pellets.

Easy and fast to print, using modifier and triangle infill for grid. See 3mf file for check settings on Bambu Studio.

Use a temperature resistant filament like ASA or ABS (maybe PETG), PLA only for initial testing (keep chamber temperature of printer under 40°C).

bill of Material (amazon.it)

  • HEPA filter (same filter of bentobox, you can search hepa filter for robot iLife, V3, V3S, V3S Pro, V5, V5S, V5S Pro).
  • activated carbon pellets - (use only ACID-FREE activated carbon pellets), or use pellets of original Bambu Lab carbon filter.
  • strip for pull it out (you can remove and use that Bambu Lab filter)
  • a bit of glue (for lock strip)
  • cutter

assembling

  1. cut the side excess of HEPA filter with a cutter
  2. glue the strip
  3. insert HEPA filter
  4. insert activate carbon pellets (EAC)
  5. insert slide cover on EAC
  6. slide box EAC onto HEPA filter box
  7. put filter inside printer
  8. enjoy

considerations

Max capacity of my design box for activate carbon is about 28g. Original Bambu Lab filter is 80g and it is guaranteed for 1440 hours (60 days). So probably it will be necessary to change the activated carbon within 500 printing hours (21 days).

tips

I recommend to use this combined filter together this interesting project to keep constant chamber temperature and set chamber fan at 50% of power in filament start gcode with "M106 P3 S130" command.
