Description

After fighting with spool rings breaking after one or two uses or being oversized and binding up in the AMS, I decided to switch my cardboard (mostly PolyTerra) spools over to Bambu spools by just ripping off the cardboard, leaving only the center core. The only issue is the ID is not the same, and the spool adapter I had previously printed, cracked right down the side when I tried to remove it from an emptied spool. This core insert takes care of that. The end results have been excellent. Thought I would share. STEP file available in “raw files” if you would like to make some custom offsets.

Happy Printing!!

This is the Polyterra adapter I’ll be using from now on. It prints flawlessly and fits perfectly. Nice profile! I tried a few other before this one and some of them didn’t seem to fit perfectly or the notch was slightly undersized. I’m glad I found this one and it worked. I forgot to take a picture after pulling it off the plate as I had a spool with no sides and all taped up waiting for it from other failure models. 5/5

Had a polymer spool that was pretty sloppy when I transferred it to a bambu spool, this worked great.

Not sure if polymaker has been changing things recently but unfortunately this wouldn’t fit in my recently purchased Polyterra spools, it’s was a good mm or so too large, so i couldn’t put it down to tolerances. Shame as this looked like it would be perfect

Prints perfect with a nice snug fit on my polyterra rolls. The adapter also will remove with a little force applied to the rim intact. Thank you for the model.
