Syringe extender for 2ml plastic syringe.

I made this Syringe extender for Stichting AAP in The Netherlands. They need to give injections to the animals, and at times you want to have a bit more distance between you and the animals. This syringe extender extends the range by approx 17 cm.

The pictures show the complete syringe extender. I added the small part with the rubber band to keep the plunger in place and to make sure it does not rattle when used.

The video ( https://youtu.be/98X4l95LB6k ) shows how to use it (the video is made with an earlier version of the extender that did not have the plunger holder yet). But the idea is the same for both.

Instructions for use (This is also shown in the video):

• Place the syringe with one of the “wings” downwards into the open gap.
• Push the syringe firmly down.
• The syringe should click into place. (the syringe should be made of plastic, not glass!. The reason it snaps into place is because the plastic of the syringe can be squeezed into place)
• Enter the long part into the back of the syringe extender and use the syringe as normal.

To remove the syringe,

• You can do this by hand
• Or use the small extraction tool. Just place the syringe holder on top of the small tool and press down, the syringe will then pop out.
