Description

EDIT

-------------------------------------------------------

2023.08.10.

  • On request from Chris Ondrovic added frame parts without side ventilation (holes only on front side)

2023.03.26.

  • Added STL for Alu profiles caps. Printed from Prusament PC blend urban grey, looks nice and will withstand high temp. You can find it inside folder "LED Add-on ALU profile (20230208)" - LED Ramp ALU cap.stl

2023.02.26.

  • Added 3mm TPU spacer (holes for handle screws included). If you want it, I recomend print new higher version of frame (higher rim), or just make 1.2mm slice of spacer in slicer, because original height of rim is not enough to accommodate 3mm spacer and 1.2 mm is minimum for screws to fit. (I didn't print it, but I hope, it will fit. There is no clearance, but it migth work, TPU shrinks a little, if not, please scale it down like 99.8 ~ 99.5 %)

how to slice to 1.2mm in bambu studio (i am using SofrFewer branch, but it's same i hope :))

2023.02.08.

  • Add-on ALU LED profile holder for mounting corner AL profile (18,5x18,5)
  • STEP files for this add-on, so it can be modified for any other accessory you want mount inside frame. Feel free and be creative ! :D

-------------------------------------------------------

2023.02.08.

  • Added step files for both covers (side, front), without text, logo, motiv… Feel free and make some nice design for your self (btw, main model for covers is now here: https://makerworld.com/cs/models/45201

-------------------------------------------------------

2023.02.03.

  • New version of frame with higher top edge (for thicker insert under top glass)

-------------------------------------------------------

2023.01.26.

  • Add-on: new cover designs: https://makerworld.com/cs/models/45201
  • Revorked task in proggress, because i am stuck for now and have no idea how to continue in right way… I have to think about it in wider context.

-------------------------------------------------------

FUTURE TASKS

  • Back port for connecting power for LED (think about creating more complex add-on under AMS with panel for air filtraion, LEDs, …)

-------------------------------------------------------

PRINTING

No special needs, minimum material requirements is PET-G (inside enclosure may be too hot for PLA). Some parts needs to be printed in more than one instance.

Basic - Frame

  • Frame (1x front-left + 1x front right + 1x rear left + 1x rear right)
  • Cover (4x side + 2x front of your choice)
  • Frame Spacer (4x)

Variant - With LED (You can print and assembly this addition later without reprinting any of already printed parts)

  • LED Ramp (2x side + 2x front)
  • Diffusor (2x side + 2x front)
  • Diffusor Clamp (8x or more if you want)

My print:

  • Frame + Spacers + LED ramps - Prusament PC-CF
  • Vent. covers - Spectrum PET-G (white / light green)
  • Difussors + Clamps - Transparent PET-G (unknown brand)

0.4 nozzle / 0.2 layer - long parts (except difusors) with brim 5mm, no supports.

Hints:

  • If you want more dim and diffuse your LEDs, try print last top layer (or up to 3 layers) in white opaque material. Or you can use grey or any other color which you like :)

-------------------------------------------------------

EXTRA MATERIAL NEEDED

Basic - Frame

  • Magnet 5x3mm (circle) [48x]
  • Foam strip 0.5-1mm for top part, where glass lay on frame (optional)

Variant - Without LED

  • Screw M3x18mm [12x]
  • M3 nut [12x]

Variant - With LED (You can print and assembly this addition later without reprinting any of already printed parts)

  • Screw M3x20mm [12x]
  • Brass threaded insert M3x3mm [12x]
  • LED strip 10mm, self adhesion recomended (use your favorit one, i use 12V-14W/m which can be cut in 50mm steps)
  • Cables and connector to attach LED strips to power supply
  • Adequate power supply
  • Switch ? :)

-------------------------------------------------------

POST PRINTING TASKS AND ASSEMBLY

  • After printing main frame, is nessesory file it flat and sharp corners in joint area. Best way to check correct shape is that you can put screws trough holes trough both parts and screws stay perpendicular to surface. Also check it regulary in filing process, if fits on top of your printer. It must fit tight, but install it without force.
  • Put magnets into holes in frame and covers
  • Put brass threaded inserts into LED ramps (optional for LED version)
  • Install LED strips and wiring into LED ramps (optional for LED version)
  • Assembly frame and screw it togethed (using spacers and nuts or spacers + LED ramps with brass inserts installed for LED version)
  • Install wiring to channel in frame (optional for LED version)
  • Install diffusors with diffusor clamps
  • Install foam strip on top of frame (optional)
  • Remove top glass form printer, attach frame, and put glass back on top of frame
  • Connect power supply (optional for LED version)
