Simple and elegant stand made for the Apple Magsafe charger. Easy to print in place.

Idea

Inspired by the Twelve South Forté stand used by Apple to showcase the new StandBy mode for iOS. I wanted to create the most simple, easy to use and print stand for the magsafe charger and the iPhone.

Two versions

Because I love to have the choice, I created two versions :

  • All in one, single piece, ready to be printed in place with no supports and no brim.
  • Split version where the base and the head are separate and held together by a screw, allowing you to choose two materials etc. Also easy to print, with recommended brim only for head and screw.

Printing instructions

I recommend printing at 0.2mm, as is. It was specially designed to work without supports.

For the split version, I recommend adding a brim for stability for the head and the screw.

This model looks very nice in design however the print profile in which the whole model prints at once printed very poorly.

Great print! I may design a small piece to glue in place to ensure the charging puck does not pull out when I pull my phone off the charger in the middle of the night. I have learned to just use two hands to keep the puck in place. Very sturdy, never really falls over.

Grid infill tends to catch on the nozzle. Could have used more top layers. Print worked fine and came out looking pretty good. Profile is overall good, but could be slightly improved.
