Description

I have ordered several Hotends but you need a separate fan for each one...

I thought to myself that there must be another way...

with this duct and holder you can screw the fan directly to the head. all you need are 3 M2x4mm screws. You can then simply screw through the ventilation holes on the side. Be careful not to scratch the carbon guides

The duct has the further advantage that now the whole air flow of the fan goes through the cooling fins and cools even better...!

I recommend:
- PETG or more heat-resistant material (definitely not normal PLA)
- the result is best with a 0.2 nozzle

A friend made a video about ++ one fan for all hotends ++

if something does not fit or you have ideas on how to make it even better, please contact me

I printed in PETG with PLA as supportmaterial. Worked really good even with 0.4 CHT nozzle, just lowered the temps a little. Fits well even if i used M3x8mm and it survived the first few prints without problems.

FYI, you don't need to use PLA for the entire support, you can simply set the 'Support Interface' to be PLA, which means it'll only use PLA for where the support and the models come into contact. This means you only need to purge/change materials for every layer a support touches the model, which would be significantly less than every layer as you have done here.

I would not suggest that setting for this part. My photo angle makes it look that interface only would make sense. But on the other side the arm goes nearly to the build plate. I added a photo from the slicer from the other side. And i wanted that arm specifically supported to give it strenght. So no big benefit in material changes. Also for this specific part with your suggestion that long arm would be pla+petg in a tree support over the full height. From my experience that would be too easy to break, so a mono-material support should be prefered.

I like this idea so much! I have 4 fans for hotends, but I am having issues with the connector. I will try to be able to replace hotend without reconnecting the fan connector with this.
