Description

Customize your new Traeger pellet grill and griddle

These are printable accessories for the new Pop-and-Lock (P.A.L.) system on the most recent Timberline, Ironwood, and Flatrock grills from Traeger. They clip on just like the original accessories.

Accessories:

  • Hook - Like the accessory available for purchase from Traeger. Only requires the one printed part.
  • Scraper (Putty) Holder - A small bin to hold a plastic putty knife/scraper up to 3.7" wide. It requires the P.A.L. - Scraper Holder and P.A.L. - M4 Clip (single) printed parts.
  • Thermapen Holder - A small bin to hold a Thermapen One or equivalent instant-read thermometers. It requires the P.A.L. - Thermapen Holder and P.A.L. - M4 Clip (single) printed parts.
  • Storage Bin - Similar to the one available for purchase, but only about half the length. It requires the P.A.L. - Storage Bin and P.A.L. - M4 Clip (double) printed parts.

The holders and bin have openings in the bottom for water and grease to drain out of.

Printing:

  • All parts can be printed without supports, rafts or brims.
  • I have printed some parts with a 0.4 nozzle and some with a 0.6 nozzle (I got impatient), and both work well.
  • As the pellet grill/griddle will (assumingly) be exposed to the sun a lot, I recommend printing the parts in ASA, if possible. Otherwise, PLA, PETG, or ABS will also work.

Assembly:

  • Everything except the hook requires M4x8 bolts and nuts to assemble (M4 Clip (single) needs 2, M4 Clip (double) needs 4).
  • Place the nuts in the attachment part (holders or bin) and screw the bolts in from the backside of the clip.

Other accessories:

Although I will add other accessories in the future if I make them, should you need a specific one and want to make it yourself, here are the important measurements:

  • Holes for the bolts are spaced 25mm apart on-center (vertical and horizontal).
  • The material thickness of the holders/bin on the side attached to the clip is 5.6mm, with a countersunk of 2.9mm for the nut (this will work with an M4x8 bolt).

If you design your own accessory based on this template, please upload a remix so that we have a growing collection of P.A.L. accessories :)

Update 12/26/2023: Fixed storage bin to have the cutouts for the nuts on the correct side. Thanks to Flyrocket!

I tried the trash bag one and i had to drill out the holes for the screws that I used for this design to work, would be nice if you inset some holes like this design has. Also the holder part snapped off the clamp part so it could probably use more infill, wall loops, or something.

I appreciate the feedback! will def fix these issues. I haven't had a problem with mine yet but more walls could never hurt. Thanks again!

I printed the hook, and put it on the rail, it fit well, was kind of thinking it would snap on there for a super tight fit, instead it slides so when i put the shelves down the hook doesn't stay in place, that would be my only complaint, other than that is really awesome, thanks for sharing!
