Description

This is my model of F-302 from Stargate franchize. Once again, the model is designed entirely by me and is meant to be assembled with no glue at all. (Thou in my cas I had to use a little bit of glue to fix a gap that appeared).
The assembly is relatively straith forward but you need to apply significant force in order to put all the pins into their respective holes. Once you do that, you will be surprised how sterdy it is.

Awesome model and great profile. Worked really well. Decoloured most of it before printing (as I don't have some of those colours or types) but otherwise came out really clean. Only issues were the part right behind the cockpit from plate one is meant to print vertically (according to the assembly video) so the vent fins drooped slightly. Not enough to ruin it though. And I will definitely redo this at a much Finer layer height for final display. 0.2 is pretty course with some of the angles involved in the final print. Especially the cockpit. Model note: the rocket engine flaps are extremely fragile. I broke two when connecting it with the pin. Just rotated the broken ones down, but a caution to learn from my mistake. Doubt there is any way to make that any stronger so watch where you grip during assembly. The reversing direction of the diagonal layer lines definitely gives it a cool final look too. Will be playing with those options in future to see what other types of looks I can get.

No worries. It looks really cool and I'm so glad I chose it first of all the options Martin has graced us with. The models are all incredible. And the profile did just work. Nothing failed. Didn't have to redo anything. No messing about with brims at all. It all just came out nicely, flat off the bed. Nothing warped or lifted. I did multicolour the cockpit windows and text on the rear wings, so I just used the black PLA for those as my support interface and everything came away nice and clean. Half of the supports stayed on the plate as I pulled off the parts they were so clean. Honestly worked better as interface than the actual PLA Support that came with the printer which I used on the Destiny print.

Martins model is FANTSTIC, i didn't doing and fitment tests so i am to blame a bit though. you may want to test a few of the smaller parts in a print to be sure and dial your printer in or make a few adjustments. Most of my parts were way to tight, had to do a lot of post processing

love it. 'Twas my first print. I did an okay, job putting it together, I'll probably make another one now that I have some experience. Where can I find the stand like the one pictured?
