I've used this template for several of my coaster set designs and someone requested a blank coaster that they could add their own text (or graphic) to. Can be printed without an AMS with pause at height to change filaments.
Direct in Bambu Studio: Add text, shapes or even STLs directly in Bambu Studio:
If you open the 3mf file in Studio, there are 1 blank coaster, 1 blank holder and 1 example coaster.
The example coaster shows adding text and a cylinder shape with Studio to create a void through the main top coaster layer to the colour below.
Using this example, you can hopefully replicate the process with any text or shape (imported stl should work!).
NOTE: using an SVG that was converted to STL as a negative part should work nicely. Make the imported part at least 1mm thick and embed it 1mm below the top surface.
Make it bigger: If you want it larger (or smaller) in diameter, scale X and Y independent of Z.
Optional in CAD:
I've attached the STEP files for a blank coaster and a blank holder. These can be imported in to CAD software to add text or graphics to as a 1mm cut from the main top surface of the coaster/holder. This will expose the colour below. After that, save as a STEP and import into Bambu Studio then Split them to parts and set the filament colours/materials as you want. Easy peasy.
As always: show me your prints!
And feel free (as per license) to upload your design for others to print, share, sell, etc.
Coaster “Construction”
1st colour: 1mm base (can be same as Insert Colour, but I prefer same as top colour)
2nd colour: 1mm Insert Colour
3rd colour: 1.4mm top colour (I use 1st colour again). This includes the raised ring. hat is 0.4mm above the main coaster top surface.
For my D&D coasters, I used inverse colour scheme for the coaster and the holder (coaster main gold, holder main gold). I think I like this best but my 3mf is not coloured this way. Easy to fix and set colours to your preference.
