Description

A Voronoi cat model is an elegant and modern representation of a feline figure, created using a unique geometric partitioning. The sculpture is a three-dimensional structure that is characterized by the Voronoi diagram pattern, where the surface is divided into distinct, irregularly-shaped cells that are tessellated to form a cohesive whole.

Each cell in the Voronoi pattern appears as a polygon, with varying sizes and shapes, giving the impression of a natural, organic form, as if the cat has emerged from a frothy sea of mathematical precision. The cells are interconnected, creating a network of edges that defines the shape of the cat, from its pointed ears and curved back to its swishing tail and poised paws.

When I saw this I had to print it for my daughter! She loves this kinda stuff. Beautiful art! I saw right away after doing the cloud print that there was a few issues starting to show. For the most part it built through them but you can see the holes and little defects. Not sure if it needs more cooling and or slower printing. Don't get me wrong this is amazing that the printer can even do this but possibly a few adjustments to the cloud prints and it would be amazing. This is Bambu PLA silk white. Either way I saw some of your others I'm going to try out. 👍

It is a very challenging print, for perfect results I'd recommend drying the filament, heavily slow down the print on overhangs and then it should print perfectly!

I appreciate the feed back. I wasn't worried about the filament needing dried since it has worked great with other prints and went from the package into the AMS and hasn't been out since. As far as the slowing down that's what I was talking about. I just did the cloud print so what ever settings that was uploaded is what it used. I'm sure if I load it in on my PC and adjust that way, like you said it will turn out great. I will do that with the others in the future. Thanks again!

Filament comes a bit damp out of the factory, some more, some less, it could be just a bit to show defects on more challenging prints. I never dry mine except if I'm going for a challenging print like this and it showed good practice! I will add a print profile with slowed down settings, thank you for your feedback!

It was Cookiecad Purple ombre PLA. I got it from Microcenter if you have one local.

SLOW PRINT SPEEDS AT OVERHANGS AND WALLS // 0.16mm layer, 2 walls, 40% infill
This time I gave it a try on my A1 mini and with this reduced speed I think it was a big difference. This filament hadn't been dried or anything. Been exposed to the air for a few weeks so it's a true test of the speed and now drying my filament will change this print for sure. Thanks for this profile.

Glad to see it improve, I'm happy you were able to pull it off :). Let us know the final results with the dried filament as well!

I printed a 50% version, the result turned out well, but the whole model is in threads.

This issue is called 'stringing' if you want to troubleshoot. it's often caused by wet filament... or I just grab a heat gun for quick cleanup.

I printed 2, both times I got holes in the sides. Using PLA with default settings

Had a few defects still at slow speeds but came out pretty great still.
