Description

I use these cases when my lenses are in storage or in my camera bag. They are robust enough to stop the barrels from getting marked up, keep the dust and water out, and are easy to unscrew in the field.

I used PETG for the cases for extra impact strength, but PLA works just as well. Maybe this is an excellent application for Bambu's new Tough PLA.

Multiple sizes are on the profile for the following lenses:

  • 15-45
  • 18-55 (NEW! 2024-01-05)
  • 22
  • 32
  • 11-22
  • 18-150

Print the correct plate for your needs.

Print the badge to suit using Make My Sign from MakerWorld. See the instructions below.

Let me know if you need any other sizes, and if you catch me at the right time, I may just be able to help out. These are the lenses that I had access to so that I could take measurements.

Instructions

1. Visit Make My Sign from MakerWorld [makerworld.com/makerlab/MakeMySign]https://makerworld.com/en/models/makerworld.com/makerlab/MakeMySign)
2. Press the 'Create from Blank' button (near the top)
3. When asked to select a template, just close out of it with the 'X' button.
4. Set the base plate style to the circle
5. Change the dimensions to 60mm x 60mm.
6. If you choose to use a border, make sure that it is offset by at least 2mm
7. Set the thickness to 1.6mm.
8. Style the badge as you want. You will find the Canon logo as an SVG on the Wikipedia site.
9. When complete, download the design and open it in Bambu Studio for printing.

Assembly

  1. Place the lid on a table facing downwards.
  2. Add the badge to the back and face it downwards.
  3. Stand up and use a little 'oomph' to press the badge into place. Work around the entire circumference. You can do it! When you hear the 'click' it's done.
  4. Be proud of yourself.
  5. Show it to someone else

If you can find it within yourself, please give me a like (and maybe a collect). After trying out the model, spend a minute to take a photo and post it. I'm pretty lonely here and need a little bit of feedback to keep me incentivised.

Does anyone read this far?
