Description

This model is a wall mount for both quest 2 and 3 headsets since I have both. I designed it in blender (because Im insane) using some 3d scans I found for quest 2 and 3 controllers / headsets to mold the parts to fit. You need 5 wood screws to fasten it to a wall or whatever (I use size 4 imperial which is either 3 or 4 mm metric). All parts are identical for q2 and q3 (including controllers) with the exception of the headset holder. Quest 3 has a slightly different design for the goggles inside the headset.

There are also clips for charging wires on the controller holders (outer clip is 4mm and inner clip is 5mm for bigger wires).

Customizations

I also designed a faceplate that can snap on. In the pictures I have a customized faceplate with skulls but cant share it as it since it is created from a licensed image (sorry for the tease). I plan to post different customized faceplates as I have some ideas for cool glow in the dark faceplates, lithophanes with embedded LED strips, etc. If you have any cool ideas for custom faceplates please post in comments and Ill see if I can do it. If you own the rights to an image and I have time maybe Ill turn it into a multi color faceplate. Or feel free to use the attached faceplate file and make your own creation - please post back a link in comments if you create something cool!

Printing

Print settings are not very sensitive - I used default bambu studio .2mm profile and regulare PLA.

  • Print either headset_quest2 or headset_quest3 depending on what you have
  • Print 2x of controller_plaque
  • Optionally print faceplate_basic if you dont want to see the screw holes
  • Print 1 of each of all the other parts
  • Many parts can fit on the plate and can be printed at the same time but will leave it up to you

Assembly

  1. Use the base part as a template and drill 5x holes for the screws. I used 7/64 inch drill bit (not sure what to use for metric but its between 2 and 3 mm screws). Dont fasten the base to the wall yet.
  2. Insert the headset and conroller parts into the grooves. Make sure you put the right and left controllers on the correct side.
  3. Insert controller_plaque (x2) below the controllers to hold them firmly in place
  4. Insert headset_plaque above the headset holder to hold it firmly in place
  5. Mount the part labeled base on the wall using screws
  6. snap in the optional faceplate if you printed one. Its easiest to insert the faceplat bottom first by the headset holder and then snap the rest in.
  7. Follow me to get new faceplates as I publish them!

oh yeah - no supports needed because supports suck. All overhangs are 45 degrees or less.

Also I will be uploading the wire clip holder pictured in the above image.

Forgot to mention. Make sure when you insert the controller_plaque - put them in the correct direction. They are designed with an inset for screws. BL should make these things editable - at least the comments.
