Description

There are these useful gadgets you can purchase from the hardware store to keep your work gloves with you when you are not wearing them. Typically, a small clip that attaches to your belt loop and a larger clip that attaches to your gloves. This arrangement then dangles beside you, so dirty or wet gloves stay with you, but out of your pockets.

My design replaces the belt loop clip with a loop attachment that slips over you belt itself. This attachment comes in three forms, a solid loop, a flexible arm so that you can slip it onto the belt and a third attachment that fits onto a worn belt (width 38 or 45mm).

My belt attachments will fit belt thicknesses up to about 3.5mm and with a width of less than 46mm. My loop attachment directly replaces the commercial belt clip, re-using the rest of the glove clip arrangement.

In the end, I duplicated the belt clip, too. This clip attaches to the belt hook via a short cord. The other end of the clip springs open and securely grips the gloves. I have found that my glove clip printed in PETG works well, but over time, loses its springiness. I'm looking for a better plastic to print the clip with.

I chose to use PETG for both parts for the strength and flexibility. Whilst I haven't tried a print in PLA, I suspect that PLA will be too brittle for the clip and crack under pressure.

Here is my 3D design. My design may match your needs, too.

My print is made with eSUN PETG 1.75mm Black and Orange filaments, with 0.2mm layer height and 15% infill on a Bambu X1 Carbon printer. The belt loop is best printed with a brim. The glove clip should be printed with supports enabled.

I hope you can find this design useful, too.

Remember to leave me some feedback or even a tip to keep me enthused to make more of these drawings.
