Description

These started as signs for my own use vendor fairs and pop ups that would show off the multicolor printing capabilities of Bambu Lab printers alongside the prints. I couldn't find anything remotely like what I had in mind so here we are. The signs measure apprx. 101 mm x 62 mm x 2 mm. The lettering is set to apprx. 1 mm. They do vary slightly particularly in thickness because I designed them in Bambu Studio.

These came out great for my needs. My hope is they'll help out other local sellers, too. Some stuff that may help:

  • I'm new to 3D model development so set expectations accordingly. I have tested most of the versions but not all. Let me know if you bump into any issues, and I'll do my best to fix it and learn along the way. We all gotta start somewhere!
  • The main print profile has all the signs face down for that fantastic surface quality. They look great on the Textured PEI plate. I'd love to see Cool Plate and some of those PEO finishes!
  • Euro Print Profile for AMS now available with two raw print file versions for both AMS and layer height changes for non-AMS printers. I have NOT finished test printing all variations yet but wanted to get these files available per request. Please inspect your slices carefully before printing! I'm fighting Bambu Studio to get these to line up on the face. When in doubt you may want to print face up and play with your top surface settings instead.
  • I included a second 3MF for easier text editing. USE WITH CAUTION! The text goes whacky as soon as you Edit Text in the By Object view. This is not a me thing…it's a slicer software limitation we're working around.
    • Bambu Studio doesn't offer an align feature, so you have to manually adjust z height and sometimes X and Y angles. It's even worse if you try to edit face down.
    • After you with that battle, if you want the cleanest surface finish you'll need to flip the sign face down and then do some fine tuning after slicing to get the faces flush. (I found adjusting the Y axis 180 degrees to be easiest.)
  • For those not familiar, STL's as always are just the geometry. Each was made with separate objects for the sign and text, so if you do want to download just one or two and manually Paint in Bambu Studio it should be a snap with Fill.

NEW! I've designed a new set of price signs with built-in stands that are a bit smaller, use less filament, and require less print time. I use a mix of both in my pop-up booth! These are the new ones. >>>

Past updates to this original design:

ADDED November 26, 2023: Euro Print Profile as well as 3mf versions for AMS and non-AMS change at layer height in the raw print files. WARNING these are raw files and work in progress in response to request. Please check your slices carefully for any errors. Comments alerting me to any issues are welcome so I can fix them!

REVISED November 2, 2023: Fixed floating regions on the $12 and $25 signs thanks to a heads up they were failing from a commenter. I've replaced the main Print Profile and Face Up 3MF raw file for customization. I also replaced those two STL's with revised versions.

Hey, love them.. i'm trying to change the currency in Euro. But as soon as i do. It flips the sign to the side and also it goes on top and doesn't want to go inside anymore? What am i doing wrong? I'm changing it in orcaslicer but also tried bambu and both are updated to the newest versions. Can it be the euro sign? Because it gives a strange '?' instead of the € but on the text i do get the € :) Thanks in advance.

You're not doing anything wrong! There's some kind of glitch in how Bambu Studio handles text. I had the same issue making them! Have you already tried making the change in the "face up" version I uploaded as a 3mf? I didn't have the same problem face up, and then after editing you can flip them face down before slicing. I have also promised a Euro version to members of one of the printing groups I'm in. So if the face up 3mf still won't edit for you I'll try to hurry that up. I've just been busy getting ready for pop up events so hadn't gotten to it!

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes this is for my Christmas market prices soon.. Saw many signs but love your design the most. Yes, that's in the 3mf file I'm editing them and it goes wonky instantly.

Darn! I hoped that other version would not have the same software problem. I had to do quite a bit of manual Z adjusts in the Bambu Studio By Object area to get the signs to work. I'll do my best to troubleshoot tomorrow or Thursday and see if we can't get a Euro version working. (Thursday is a U.S. holiday). I've started playing with the new Make MY Sign feature, but that's still very basic. You can generate signs but fonts are limited, and they come out with layer height changes only. You have to manually adjust those for flat multicolor as well. It was less difficult, tho. I'd love to get these working for you and other non-dollar users. But I understand if you can't wait and want to try the new sign maker. You can still use my stands.

Oh no! I'll test those two as soon as I can to see if I can figure it out. Those are two of the ones I added after the first after the first batch. I'll update the description with a warning as soon as I can get to the desktop version of MakerWorld. I think I see the issue. Those two are trying to print in air due to a cantilever I didn't see when test slicing. I'm fighting Bambu Studio to fix and will upload a new profile as soon as I do!

I believe I've fixed it. I have a long print running, so I haven't been able to print test the fixes yet. However, they no longer throw the cantilever/floating regions error. They should now work like the others! Thank you so much for letting me know about the problem.

I will update rating, I was having same issue which is why I gave my rating. Updating rating without printing in hopes it really is fixed. TY

I'm so sorry! Is this the new Euro version? Did it happen on a particular sign amount if you can tell? It's very hard to get the plate and lettering flush in Bambu Studio, so despite checking the slice and testing many of the amounts a few have slipped through. I'll get in there and troubleshoot ASAP!

Regular rounded, the $10 and $8 / 2/15 were good. These would work well with just two layers as well with thinner holders to cut down on material

Thanks for the info! I think I found the issue on that first plate and will upload a replacement print profile ASAP. It's the new prices I added per user requests. Thanks for the suggestion on thinner, too. I made these for my booth and wanted a little heft to them so they don't blow over outdoor markets. Great remix or future print profile! (Once I've figured out why signs that were fine after my previous update now aren't!) I'm working on a new set with a built-in stand and smaller sign.

Any chance of making a $3 (without the deal) and a $4?

Sure! I'll try to do that this weekend. I'm also working on a new set of signs for the Make My Sign contest with built-in stands. I'll try to add to those as well!

I modified the $3 2 for 5 one to make it just 3. but a $4 and $40 would be great. Im liking the ones you already made. Or do you know the font so i can make one for myself?

Great suggestions! I built them in Bambu Studio with one of the built-in fonts. If you need those before I have time around work, you can add a build plate and copy/paste two similar ones ($5 and $50, for example). You can right click on the text in the Object view and then select the Edit option. This will update the numbers. Unfortunately, the text will pop up. You then have to veeeeeery carefully adjust the Z of just that Object. Check the slice Preview carefully. It's a bit of a battle to get the letters back flush. If you add them before I do, get you some Maker Rewards by uploading the additions as a new Print Profile!

I'm sorry to hear that! Could you provide any additional info that might help me trouble shoot? I repaired a couple of signs where I'd lost my battle with Bambu Studio to keep things where I put them when adding the text, but this sounds different. I've tested all of them but only have the X1C and us only PLA. Even then different environments or filaments can change things.

I used standard black and white pla from welcome get brand on my p1s. I'm going to try them again with a brim to see if it keeps the corners from lifting.

Hope that does the trick! I'm still fairly new to 3D printer ownership (this year) but have been cramming a lot of info in my noggin about it. I believe warp is often a temp or cooling issue. Might be worth checking or tweaking your build plate, part fan, and first-layer temps. I've found what works for smaller parts can be too hot for bigger surfaces like these. I printed a few versions on the black (original) Textured PEI plate because I like the finish and the adhesion.

Check out the Raw Files! I included a face up version where you can edit, but as I warn in the description be prepared to battle Bambu Studio! I had to combine the final face down files because they are so hard to keep the text aligned. It made them harder to print reliably.

$1 was off center, and they are probably thicker than they need to be. That’s ok though, as I was only printing it to test my new AMS

Thanks, I'll check the $1. It was a more recent addition. The 2mm thickness was intentional to ensure they're opaque and less likely to blow over at outdoor events. But there's a filament conserving remix out there somewhere!
