Description

Hey there! After years of printing and fixing an Ender 3 Pro and CR10S Pro from Creality, I finally purchased a BambuLab A1 for myself, to just be able to print and not to repair :)

As I was looking for a nice storage system for the accessories and tools from the A1, I found a lot of cool designs, but all of them were seperat boxes or containers that use up even more space. I didn't want to use that much area and also wanted to have everything as near as possible and seamless. So, i spent hours and hours drawing this new BambuLab A1 storage system, which also includes a poop / waste bin thats attached, with a removable plate holder and SD-card holder on the other side. It has 3 drawers, 2 smaller ones on the left with integrated cutouts for the tools, allen keys and nozzles, and there is a bigger one on the left for everything that you want to have near the printer. This design doesn't use up more space that the printer already needs with the moving bed and shape.

The whole project is split into 8 different parts:

  • sdcardholder_right (includes 2 micro-sd and 2 sd-card slots and a cutout for an USB stick. You dont need to print that part but its also used to lock the construction to the printer)
  • frontright and frontleft (cutouts for the drawers and display + cooling outlets on the printer)
  • drawer_right (large empty drawer)
  • drawer_left 1 + 2 (for tools, allen keys, nozzles, nozzle cleaning tool, scraper)
  • wastebin (to collect the purging material so it doesnt fly around)
  • plate_holder (able to store 2 buildplates)
  • 2 extra pins to connect front_right and front_left if they don't hold together

All pieces can be slided together to be assembled, should be self-explanatory.

The drawers are held in place when slided in and can't fall out by themself. You have to push the button on the left / right side to unlock the drawer and pull it out.

To empty the wastebin, you have to remove the plateholder beforehand, or just take it with you when sliding out the waste bin. For AMS users, you might want to use a different plate holder and dont attach it as you probably need to empty the bin quite often. For a non-AMS user like me :/ there is not much waste material anyway.

The print profile should work the way I uploaded it and the orientation of the parts is printable. I had quite heavy warping on my prints, but I assume it's because my room was very cold and the buildplate hadn't been cleaned for a while. Let me know if you experience warping or what to change in order to not warp.

Total print time is ~ 24h and uses ~800g of filament.

It's not a small part obviously as it wraps around the printer.

Extra informations:

  • there are 2 pins to fit into the holes in the front_left and front_right parts when slided together in order to secure them, as they'll probably never be disassembled. For me, the friction was enough to keep them in place.
  • the sd card slot in the front is covered by the storage drawer on the right, you can probably use it without the right drawer but I assumed the SD-card is probably never really taken out of the printer anyways, atleast I never ever removed it.

PLEASE give me feedback on how it worked on your printer and maybe start with the front parts to see if they print out successfully. It took me quite a while so I appreciate every feedback. Thanks and hope you'll enjoy :)
