Description

7" tall Cactus Lamp design.

I made this as a commission, but thought it was too cool not to share. I designed the lamp for a lamp kit I purchased at Lowe's (details below). for my print, I used glow-in-the-dark filament for the needles and Light green for the cactus body (please note, you have to use a light green or the light will not pass through). All print settings used are saved in the files, but I mainly used the standard settings except a support angle at 45 degrees. the support material in the cactus body is a little difficult, but with a pair of needle nose plyers, you can work it out pretty easily. The needles print with a small brim and I melted them onto the cactus.

I love this soooooo much. We aren't allowed to have real plants so it's my desk plant. I made a couple of modifications - I printed an addition 50% reduced blossom to be stamens (yellow) and added a central column for the cheap Aliexpress leds I had on hand. Used transparent pla for spines.

I will keep an eye out for new designs. It's one of my favorite things I have printed.
