Description

Hello, fellow Nintendo Switch owners. This is a 2-hour print job that will hold up to 21 of your game cards. It consists of 4 parts: Top Card, Mid Card, Bottom Card, and a Pin. You can choose between a solid or 2-colour version of the top card. Assembly direction is included in the gallery. If you can do multi-material print, it will require 2 plates (versus 3).

I printed this on a Bambu Lab X1C + AMS so I am including the multi-material print file as well.

For remixers, .step files are available.

What you need:

  • 2× M3×30mm screws
  • 2× M3 Nut

You need to print the following:

  • 1× Top Card
  • 6× Mid Card
  • 1× Bottom Card
  • 1× Pin

Material: Use that PLA you bought 6 years ago. It'll be okay, just dry it first. Tested with ABS.

Print Settings:

  • Layer width: 0.4mm
  • Layer height: 0.2mm

Very useful! The games snap in perfectly and I no longer have to worry about the kids loosing the small games. Now we need more games to fill the slots.

you have done some smart things with the profile. personally I think a small prime tower for the lid would be ideal. also I only had m3x20 screws and the heads are a bit bigger so don’t fit flush but that good otherwise too long for 3 mid sections. thanks for providing the step, if I can be bothered later, I might change what I need on the lid or get longer screws. switch games fitted perfectly

Several of the middle pieces broke trying to get them off the build plate. They are too thin.

Print quality was good, but the end unit is not as good as I hoped.

Thank you for trying it out! I’d love to know what can be improved for future projects.

The nuts were a bit to tight, I almost had to melt them in. The opening for the screws was also to small. I had to drill them a bit wider in order for my screws to fit.

Replying to @Maciz :
The holes are 3,2 mm in diameter - the screws 3 mm, usually a tiny bit less. Not the fault of the model, you are just overextruding.
