Description

I really liked the idea behind Urban 3D's awesome slide out Bambu Pull Tray Purge Bucket but needed some changes and saw room for improvement so I redesigned it from the ground up.

It's recommended that you use (2 to 3) 8x3 magnets to secure the tray to the printer.

Updates:

2023-12-12: Added optional feet for users that have their printer on a rubber paving stone (scale the height according to your mat).

Warning: If you print a third party profile you may not be getting the latest version or the highest quality print.

When this error occurs it's usually because a previous print was cancelled. I've found that if I wait a little while for the successful print to register I can later go to my ratings, as shown in the attached image, and update it.

Ramp was too shallow or lacked contour, not sure. My waste kept getting hung up at the top then jamming the purge bucket. I haven't tried sanding or doing finer layer height yet. I definitely had issues where cooling wasn't reaching the inner walls of the bucket. Could go slower maybe.

You might want to try the adaptive profile as that will give the smoothest ramp. That being said I have not encountered this issue with my standard print. The slope of the ramp is a trade-off between being steep enough and allowing for a reasonable amount of waste to remain in the bucket.

I printed this with 2 different silver PETG filaments (that's the reason for the slight color change) to close out a roll. With both filaments the "ramp" had a lot of bumps and issues even though the underside of the ramp was as smooth as could be. I'm still new to 3d printing so I'm confused how one side could come out darn near perfect and the other side was really rough. Do you have any idea why that happened? It looks like I'm not the only one having this issue given at least one other comment I saw. I was able to sand the ramp down with some 220 sandpaper to where I don't think anything will be caught on it. I'm doing a test run of it now.

Great option if you have multiple printers and are tight on space. Makes it easy to empty the the purge bucket without having to disconnect the base from the printer. Make sure to angle the slide portion at a slight decline so the purged filament does not get hung up on the slide.
