I needed to remove a really stuck Moan 1222 Cartridge from my Shower/Bath Faucet
I created this model after watching some similar ideas on youtube
requires a 10-24 threaded rodd about 8" long
10-24 wingnut, + washer + 2 regular 10-24 nuts
how it works
print STL will full infills, as strong as possible. 100%
insert threaded rod through printed part into the Moen Cartridge. add washer to end, then add wingnut, then add two regular nuts and lock them together,
you need two set of pliers for this to work. one set holds onto the two regular nuts so the rod doesnt spin
2nd plier turns the wingnut (if needed)
Once threaded rod is threaded into the cartridge and the wingnut is tight against the Printed piece, hold onto the end nuts so it doesnt spin and then tighten the wingnut and it will pull the cartridge out slowly, hold it straight. worked like a charm for me. for a 20year old cartridge
I only tried this with Moan 1222 cartridge. not sure if it would work with 1225 version
