Description

This is a filament tensioning knob for the stock titan style extruder that comes with the Anycubic i3 Mega S. I'm not sure what other printers it will fit, but there definitely may be others. This knob fits right over top of the existing knob. It press fits on extremely nicely on my printer, but your mileage may vary depending on your printer calibration. Scaling or horizontal expansion/flow settings may need to be adjusted if you have a different experience. When fitting it to the printer just make sure the internal bumps on the new knob line up with the indents on the original one.

I made this because I'm constantly forgetting which direction increases tension, and which direction decreases tension, so this knob has some handy markings. I made it dual color by simply pausing the print and swapping out filament at the right times.

The writing on the knob is a bit small, but I was trying to keep the knob relatively small because that's just my preference. I printed it with a 0.4 nozzle and it could be better but it is definitely legible. Using a smaller nozzle may improve legibility if that is a concern for you. (EDIT: The last picture is one I re-printed with a 0.2 nozzle at a .15 layer height if you'd like to see the difference a smaller nozzle makes)

Print Settings

Printer Brand: Anycubic

Printer: i3 Mega S/Pro

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.2 or lower

Infill: 25% Lightning

Filament: Voxelab and AMZ3D PLA+/PLA Black/Neon Yellow

Notes:

Printed with a 0.4 nozzle and a 0.2 layer height with the writing facing down against the bed. I did a couple filament changes to get the dual colour. Using a smaller nozzle may improve legibility. Scale or adjust flow/horizontal expansion if the fit isn't good. It fit really nicely for me.
