A revised version of a simple remix of a the Desiccant Spool Carrier for Bambu Lab's spools. It can be kept in the spool while printing and in storage. The initial remix replaced the holes in the lid with a cut-out for a hygrometer, mainly useful during storage, and has a very tight fit, to keep the hygrometer from falling out.

 

Update: Added a new version with two lid options that include a channel to allow air to pass into a hygrometer chamber. This version keeps the desiccant from getting into the hygrometer, and has a looser fit to more easily remove the hygrometer for replacing the batteries.

 

Build plates:

  1. Solid lids: Used to isolate the hygrometer measurements to the air outside the desiccant container.
  2. Perforated lids: Used to measure a mix of air inside and outside the desiccant container.
  3. Perforated containers: For use with the lids on build plates 1 & 2.
  4. Sealed Lids with matching perforated containers: The original version that measures the humidity of the desiccant.

The new containers are a bit shorter than the originals, to account for the increased height of the new lids. The distance between the inside faces for both v1 & v2 is 63mm. You can mix and match the old lids with the new containers for a narrower spool (57mm), or the new lids with the old containers for a wider spool (69mm).

 

Note: The perforation of the lids and containers is not shown in the build plates or previews. The effect is achieved during slicing by removing the top and bottom layers, and using a dense, honeycomb infill (to keep the desiccant from passing through)

 

Related model: Threaded funnel can be used to fill and empty both versions of the containers.

Very good construction, easy to print and fits perfectly. The thread in particular works very well.

Fit reallly well. I messed up with tolerances so I had to literally jump on it to mount. but I looks good.

Printed as expected, the circular hydrometer from Amazon fits perfectly.

Printed perfectly. The hydrometer fit with very little modification, I reamed the opening where the tabs sit to ensure it would slide in easier. No supports on X1C.

I printed a lot of them for my filament spools, the only thing I wish I would've had was more vent holes throughout, so the desiccant can do its job better
