Update 3/1/24.

Added optional below water part of ship plus improved photos.

Below water parts are printed separately in 2 separate print profiles, one for the hull part itself and then one for the really small parts like propellors.

Hull can be fixed to main body of the ship from the bottom using 2 to 4 M2x8 cap head bolts (or glue).

Rear propellor and motor units are then pushed into the back of the hull using a small screwdriver,

with front bow thruster propellors slotted in from the top of the hull part and stabilisers also pushed in.

Multi colour version of P&O Cruises Arvia scaled down to 1:1000 in order to allow it to print on a single build plate.

Notes for main part of ship.

Arvia is P&O Cruises newest and joint largest ship that was launched in Dec 2022 and the only that I have modelled so far that I haven't yet sailed on.

As I had to scale down the model to 99% to get it to fit onto the build plate it is actually techniquely 1:1010

A print profile that also includes P&O Cruises other ‘Excellence class' ship Iona is also included - as printing to two ships at the same time is more efficient in terms of overall print time and waste if you don't mind slotting Iona back together.

Some minor support structures have been included within the model - see yellow and red colour coding in the pictures below in order to allow them to print without slicer supports. (Pictures are actually of Iona - but the support structure is almost identical).

I think it is ok to leave the yellow colour coded supports in place permanently - but I would recommend snipping off the red coded supports if you want to make the ship a little bit more authentic.

Prints in about 28hrs on a Bambu Lab X1C 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height.

Only one test print of this ship has been done - and it was printed at the same time as its Sister ship Iona in order to save overall print time and waste.

Before attempting this print I would recommend trying a single colour version first in order to check that the print works ok for you.

The print really needs 11 colours - and ideally 3 AMS units - however it is probably possible to use 2 AMSs - with some mid print colour swaps within the AMS units - as for example Orange is only used for the life boats which are relatively low down, and yellow doesn't start to be used until quite high in the model. Also black is only used in the top few layers.
