I printed some minuiatures, just for fun / testing 0.2 nozzle :) → and now i need something to help me paint them. I decide create this handle, as starting point of future accessories for painting minis. This have ratcheting like mechanismus, to easly rotates model in hand and in near future I'll add accessories for already implemented acc. slot (so no need reprint anything fro adding features). I also thinking about some other features, so read future tasks and edit info for more information.
For now i design only base for use with double sided tape, but i have some idea how to create set of vice like base.
Parallel pliers fpr manipulating with magnetic base
used for safe handling magnetic base. This link is only to jaws, but inside is another link to sturdy parallel pliers, where youu need print just both handles, without jaws.
Print with maximum precision for ratchet spring and gear wheel
Use minimal layer height for screw parts (best use adaptive layer height with 0.2 setting)
Use random seams position for parts with thread (always ;))
My print is
0.4 nozzle
Arachne wall slicing engine
4 perimeters
20% infill (for handle i use only 15%)
Adaptive layer height
Brim for handle
No supports
Fuzzy skin 0.15 / 0.3 on handle
Random seems position for parts with thread
Speed depends on your printer and desired quality. I used bambu x1c, so i print it fast comapred to my MK3s+ but for ratchet spring i slow down a lot, like 50mm/s
Printed in PLA and works well. Maybe ratcheting spring will not last forewer, but whole mechanismus is so easy to print, with minimum material :) so i dont care…
Magnet 10x4mm (circle) [1x for each detachable stand]
Ratcheting mechanismus
M3 brass insert (optional, because my print was so nicely tight, that after test assembly i cannot detach it from square shank :P so i didnot use unsert and screw)
DO NOT test assembly in wrong order !!! you can end with unusable parts, because of tight tolerances :)
Before assembling screw part on square shaft, install brass insert into shaft (there is no need of brass insert with acurate print, because model have tight tolerances and you have to use some force to install screw on shaft)
