3D model description

UPDATE: 20-4-24 (improved STL file quality for smoother prints)

UPDATE: 7-4-2024 (added split handle option for users with smaller printers)

For my 50th design I decided to make something free! If you enjoy this, please leave a like or follow me, it all helps!

Here is full size imitation of the iconic WW2 German Stielhandgranate 24 'Potato Masher' stick grenade with an optional working fuze pull function. All parts including the fuze assembly are replicated faithfully and with great detail.

I have also made a paid upgrade pack for this which enables adding a Splittering fragmentation sleeve or conversion into a Nebelhandgranate 39 smoke grenade. You can find it here!

Prints easily in 10 parts with minimal supports and cleanup, assembles almost identical to a real one. The pics and file names should make it obvious how it goes together. You can also check this image which should make it clear how to rig the fuze pull function.

There is also included printable stencils to replicate the markings on the head as well as stencils for a Waffenamt acceptance mark that usually goes on top.

Please also note that the head screws to the handle top cap with a LEFT-HANDED THREAD as per the original design. This has the function of preventing the head from becoming loose.

Approx size of complete assy: 356mm (14") high and 66mm (2.6") diameter at widest point.

All you need is:

  • a big printer that has at least 140mm Z-axis (height) print space to print everything.

  • a paperclip, pliers & cotton string to rig the fuze pull function

  • superglue

Makes a fantastic addition to any re-enactment kit or cosplay costume, for display or as a theatrical prop!

Check out my other designs here on Cults as I do a lot of military replicas and imitations.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy it!

(Note: This is a cosmetic imitation only, it cannot be made to function as a real device. I am not responsible for any mis-use of the printed items. The renders showing paint colours and markings are for
illustration purposes only.)

3D printing settings

Recommend using 0.20mm layers or larger for handle and 0.16 to 0.12mm layers for the other parts.

I've pre-positioned everything in what I found to be the best printing position for my printer.

The top cap and handle will need minimal supports.

Be aware if you want to print the full size handle in one piece, 275mm Z-axis print space is required. Use the split handle files if you have a smaller printer.
