Description

Update 16/04/2024 - before printing, check out this new model!

Decorate your workspace this season with a functional print! AND give a home to all of those desiccant packets which are no doubt rolling around at the bottom of your filament tub.

  • Holds multiple desiccant packs to incraese the drying power
  • Prevents the spool from opening up in the AMS due to the fine thread engagement and tight locking - no need for a spool shim!
  • Designed to fit a Bambu spool perfectly (even those earlier ones with the 53mm holes) and maximise the available space
  • Works well in the AMS without catching on anything - the lips of the holder are almost flush with the sides of the spool
  • 2-tone design but no colour changes are required; print the meshes separately and assemble together for faster mass production
  • The mesh that goes on the cap is threaded - gently turn it with an Allen key or a ball point pen to get it to the end of the cap
  • The mesh that goes in the tube is a simple press-fit

The version without holes on the side and fine mesh could be used to hold loose desiccant but you will need a lot of desiccant to fill it up. I made it because they make neat little storage containers and could be cool gifts. Use it as you wish.

You might be wondering: why are there side holes at all? They're covered when they're in the spool! Well, i had this dryer solution in mind:

Enjoy!

Hi all! This looks like such an awesome model and I'm so excited to print it! I just have a question. For some reason the mesh parts and threads are not coming up in Bambu Studio. It shows up as a complete solid lid. What am I doing wrong?

if you downloaded my 3MF file, the mesh will show up when you click slice!

I did download your file and print it. Although I had to import it as a geometry because opening it as a project and printing gave an error saying that my P1S printer couldn't use the presets. I tried multiple times and it still showed up as a solid. I don't understand what is different now, but it works and I see the mesh. Must have been your magic touch from across the internet. Thank you so much! :)

the mesh is infill and there are no top and bottom layers, so it appears solid in geometry view :)

very usefull, thank you! (used in Sunlu Dryer S1, with Sakata 870 PLA 75-85º heat distorsion) if someone is interested: without calculations, I think each holder can contain about 100gr of silica gel

Printing the packet holder version with Bambu Lab PETG Basic on A1 using the supplied profile transferred to A1. Everything goes smooth until it gets to the thread section on the cap. There the nasty strings and blobs show up. The threaded section on the container is OK. Tried changing speed settings to no avail.

hi there, if you are using the built in profiles plus Bambu filament, the only thing I can think of is moisture - do you see any steam coming out when purging filament from nozzle when starting a print?

I've tried importing a few times and one of the mesh pieces is very oddly shaped. Is this intended?

Yes this is a threaded part! There is just one thread because it is thin and looks odd. This goes in the cap.
