Description

I'm back with another suspended model Star Wars collection..

this time its the Imperial shuttle that Darth vader and Emperor Palpatine uses..

The model was remix from aaskedall again from thingerverse.. he really has great star wars 3d models..
I remixed the shuttle using Tinkercad.. i had to redesign the middle fin of the shuttle so it can be printed without supports.. modified some parts too so it can be printed without supports..

For the frame for the shuttle to be suspended.. i designed it to look like emperor palpatine's throne..
The model is also small enough to be printed on the A1 mini but you wont have room if you want to print multicolor..

The whole model is just in one part.. i also made the model to be multicolor print.. i separated the shuttle.. strings.. and the frame.. so you can pick your own color for each part..

One important thing to remember when printing suspended models is to set the wall generator to arachne from classic.. this will make the slicer print the strings..

Great model. Thanks for the work. When slicing the model, layers 57 - 63 contain a different color (see my screenshot, highlighted in red). In my case, when printing with white and black plastic, this point becomes gray. Because There is one layer of white on top, and the inside is filled with black. Could you help me remove this, or explain how to fix it.

damn.. there is a hole in them middle of that fin.. what you can do is use the color painting tool.. and do a section view and cut until you see the square hole in the middle of the fin.. color the whole with the color of the shuttle.. that should solve it.. and another thing i saw in your image.. turn off the brimm.. you dont want to print with brimm.. it'll hard to clean the brimm with suspended models

Thank you. I'll try. I understand that it will be difficult to clean the hanging part from the margins/border. But during the first printing, the middle part of the shuttle fell off - so I decided to use a border.

These models are so cool. I printed this one on the A1 Mini; had to turn the model 90-degrees so it was parallel to the motion of the bed as when I printed it the first time, there wasn't enough surface adherence to hold the top fin to the bed and that caused all the strings to fail. Thanks for a great model!
