Let's walk down the sweet (and bitter) memory lanes. Some of you might remember the famous 'decapicat'/'decapacat' from Creality 3D. Back in the good ol' days when Cr-10 was the budget-friendly giant in the 3D printing scene. The SD card that came with it had a test print file – a pre-sliced G-code of a Maneki-neko cat (招き猫).
Many were surprised that their brand new printer (looking like a mini-guillotine) decapitated these lovely, sweet figures meant to bring luck and wealth. It turned out that the widely distributed (thanks to Creality3D Cr-10's incredible popularity) G-code was corrupted, and the printer would print the cat up to the neck, and a layer shift would occur, decapitating the cat. Back then, the Cr-10 was famous for its large print size, and some users in Facebook groups and others would enlarge the model and use it as a headless Maneki-neko pen holder.
Today, as I was clearing up my old files, I stumbled upon the G-code, and all memories flashed back. Ahhh... those wonderful (and painful) days, the trials and errors to make the print look good with good old Creality. You, Bambu generation, have it so easy compared to the old days.
I took the Maneki-neko model from Elproducts (on Thingiverse) and recreated the 'decapicat.'
There are three profiles included: the original Maneki-neko cat, the original-sized 'decapicat,' and an enlarged 'decapicat' that can be used as a pen holder.
Enjoy folks!
