Description

Create your own version of the Enterprise D Conference Lounge - on your refrigerator!

I’ve remixed magnet-compatible versions of the Enterprise D’s Conference Lounge ships display, but have also provided what you need to update it to all on-screen canon Prime universe Enterprises.

The ships are all to scale* relative to each other. You could print most of these on a smaller printer - I originally scaled these for my old Ender 2 with a max diagonal lengfth of 225 for the Enterprise E. Then Picard S3 aired and there is no way I could rescale for the F (Jesus that thing was huge!) without rendering everything before the B unprintable. Thus, if you want to print the F on a small printer, you’ll need to cut and rejoin it.

Each model includes magnet cutouts that can accommodate 2-3 small, high-strength magnets; I sized the cutouts to use these 5x2 mm magnets from Amazon, and most ended up inserting securely with pressure and no glue. You could also just apply a magnet strip across the indents instead.

ISSUES TO NOTE:

  • *For the STS Orbiter, I couldn’t fit the magnet indents without breaking through the outer layers, so that one’s roughly 10% larger than it would be if it were accurately to scale. I hope you can forgive me.
  • FYI: I have not yet personally printed the space shuttle or the F and G, but I used the same process to make those models as I did the others. Once I get around to printing a whole new batch, I'll update the photos.
  • The nacelle pylons are ultra thin and fragile on the NX-01, the 1701, the 1701-A, and surprisingly also on the 1701-E. Be gentle when separating supports.
  • Since these are all sloping hulls that taper gently, finer layer heights of .12 or .08 will yield much cleaner prints.
  • I’ve had mixed results getting the tops of nacelles to print cleanly, especially where there’s fine line detail like on the D. I might recommend a smaller .2mm hotend to address this.

Credit due: Just like on my Printables version of this model set, these are remixed from Thingiverse and Printables models: mostly ShannDeMann’s “Star Trek USS Enterprise Ultimate Collection - Wall Variant”, which is itself remixed from Solid_Alexei’s fantastic “Star Trek USS Enterprise Ultimate Collection” I’m also remixing CoopTread’s “Enterprise-D Observation Lounge” for the CVN-65 model. More recently: Solid_Alexei’s STO Odyssey Class for the Enterprise F, Cmanyeet77’s Constitution III for the Enterprise G, and Swooshie’s Space Shuttle STS for the STS orbiter.
