3D model description

I found the rear of the WR8 a bit boring and wanted to spice it up with a subtle straked diffuser. This mounts to the rear using the existing holes and hardware and is fully compatible with my rear inner rear fenders and/or mudflaps for the WR8. They mount to the diffuser using four 8mm threaded M3 screws.

The diffuser is reinforced near the mounting area to better protect against cracking during a crash but of course PLA+ has its limit. If you take a very hard hit at the rear this will likely crack. If you have the ability to print in ABS that would surely solve the problem, or simply try not to crash! ;)

You'll notice an option with HOLES FILLED. It is identical to the regular version simply with fender/mudflap holes filled in if you don't intend to run them.

I've slightly revised in this iteration to slightly shorten the diffuser, slightly change the angle, and also adjust the spacing to the inside of the body to allow for additional clearance. While the strakes appear low to the ground it's designed so the rear diff portion of the chassis contacts the ground well before the diffuser so if bottoming out this will not scrape/contact the tarmac.

3D printing settings

Printed on Bambu P1P using PLA+ and .20 layer height. Prints flat side down with no supports. Easy peasy. Use however much infill you'd prefer depending on how hard you're going to be sending it. ;) I mainly run on asphalt so very seldom any crashes and use a low 15% infill. I DO like to add a brim just to keep the diffuser flat to the build plate throughout the print and not allow the corners to lift at all. Allow to cool thoroughly before prying off so it stays nice and flat without warping.
