Description

First attempt at a vase mode printed jar with cad. Any critiquing is appreciated.

11-13-2023 - Added V2-Jar and V2-Lid Prints to fix small indents in lid, adjusted lid thickness to decrease print time, and adjusted lid locking positions between the jar and lid.

No Supports needed for any version of the models.

For taller version of this model click here.

Jar is printed in vase mode, but the lid isnt.

If using Bambu PLA the jar and lid combined print in less than an hour total.

Lid Print
it’s functional, but printing in vase mode caused the sides that are gripped by the tabs on top of the jar to fatigue and split the layers within a few uses.

I'm very sorry that happened. Was it only on 1 jar or multiple? We printed some for our son. Because of his autism he likes to assemble and disassemble things over and over, sometimes for hours on end. Hes been putting the lids on and off for days now without issue so far.

just one jar, and using some silk filament that share the blame. here’s a picture of what the layer splitting looks like

I'm sorry that happened. Are you using Bambu Silk filament? I ask because even though I haven't tried any of my jars in silk PLA, I did print some vase mode Christmas ornaments from another maker in Bambu Lab Silk PLA and had layer separation similar your pic. After I raised the print temp from 220 to 232 it fixed it. Idk if that'd fix your issue but I thought it worth mentioning.
