Description

CAR-A-MEL | FULLY 3D PRINTABLE TOY CAR KIT

All about this project - Caramel R1

Assembly guide - on YouTube

What is CARAMEL

CARAMEL is fully 3D printable (FDM) toy car consisting of 40+ parts, printed without supports. All you need is our data and your 3D printer and you can easily manufacture your own toy in the comfort of your home. In case some part get lost or broken, no worries – just re-print the missing or broken element and the toy is fully functional again.

CUSTOMISABLE - You can make your toy in any scale and any colour combination you can think of – you can try to print it as small as possible, while still being fully functional, or you can go the opposite direction and make it as big as your device allows you - all black, from carbon, big one or fast printed? It's a game, it's your decision. No rules, no restrictions, push your limits.

SUSTAINABLE - Toys can be damaged or broken in the heat of the play, sometimes that is the end of it – not with CARAMEL. You can only print the damaged part and make your CARAMEL fully functional again. We ship data only, nothing else, so there is no carbon footprint; the kit needs no supports to print, so there is no waste and everything fits perfectly without a single drop of glue.

EXTENSIBLE - We are developing NEW extensions and custom parts, so if you or your child are tired of your CARAMEL, you can easily upgrade it.

OPEN DESIGN - We would like to hear your thoughts and get your feedback. Do you think CARAMEL can be improved? Do you have an idea for custom parts? You can become part of the design process – let us know your ideas and we can make them reality. You can send us your designs and we will share them with community, for FREE.

It is scaled to 80%. I used ABS Pro, PLA Wood, PET, PCPBT and TPU. Some supports were needed. Fantastic model, thanks for sharing.

HI, ok, these models are for micrometres :), scale it down is quite risky, so, congratulations it works!, some of the parts are tiny, so make it even smaller...

Replying to @Printednest :
I definitely need to reprint the tires. I used an old TPU filament, probably too humid. Even the rims, perhaps using PLA instead of PCPBT, which tends to warp in strong overhangs. At the moment, I have designed a rim that reflects the design of an old model of mine and that prints better than the spoked ones. But I have an extremely reflective silver PLA coming soon, with which I will reprint the original spoked rims.

Even though I like the original version better, I still post this slightly custom mod.

This is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for making this! Note: certain parts were printed with PETG, so therefore the surface quality isn't the best. You would probably get much better surface quality with PLA

Hi, thx. Yes pla will make it fine smooth, but to be honest, for real kids play petg is much efficient. If youbwant put this print in the shelf, make it from pla, if you want kids dont greak it, make it from petg

Thank you very much for the great model. There is a lot of work in it. My children have a lot of fun with it. I was a little irritated that so many spare parts were included in the print profile, here you could certainly upload one without the spare parts. I had to glue the rear floor flap and the steering wheel is constantly loosening. With the video, the assembly goes very well.

thx for feedback, we will check spare parts again. This is very old model, and we will check it again. Yes if some parts needs to be glued, just glue it. Today printers are much more precise.

Way too many unnecessary spare parts. Steering is a nightmare to assemble, because the video doesn’t show you to cut some of one of the parts. Two of the wheels should have been mirrored. Bottom plates only fitted caused some glue.
