Description

Articulated Shark Fidget Toy V2.0

*A new version of a previously featured shark model*

Features:

  • Fully articulated body
  • Opening mouth with sharp teeth
  • Strong design
  • Pre painted print profiles included

Updates In Version 2.0:

  • The teeth have now been completely re designed to ensure a quality print.
  • The shark can now be scaled down - (The pictured prints are at 60% scale and flawless)
  • Faster print time than V1.0 - The new teeth save a lot of retractions over the old design.
  • The shark has been completely re painted for optimal speed and quality.
  • Less waste than V1.0
  • Slightly tighter tolerances on the jaw hinge. This allows the mouth to stay open or closed under its own friction.

This shark prints super easily with no support required.

A great piece to show off what a 3D printer can do!

Extra Info:

The mouth is designed to print shut with the top set of teeth acting as support for the upper jaw and head.

Post Print:

In order for the mouth to open, you simply need to snip where the teeth meet with a pair of side cutters (or similar). The lower jaw should then move with a little encouragement. This joint on the jaw gets quite stiff at 60% scale and does require a bit of force to break free the first time.

You must cut the teeth manually. Please don't try and force the mouth open as you will most likely break multiple teeth in the process. It usually only takes 1 or 2 cuts and then the rest of the teeth then snap in exactly the right place on their own.

The mouth can stay closed if you want, so skip this step if that's your preference.

This version will completely alleviate any issues faced with printing V1.0 - If you had an unsuccessful attempt at that one, then please try this new version! I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised :P

Thanks for looking!

Love the shark, have a slight issue where the jaw hinge snapped within minutes of my son playing and not being to rough with it. I would suspect maybe I should do more infill to prevent it. Well minimize it. I love the design and would love to print more

Ahhh that is a new one! - Thanks for the feedback. I'll add a 'Strong' profile with more walls and infill. Which profile did you print, out of interest? Cheers!

Amazing! It's nice to see someone have the same experience I have had while printing these sharks :) I'm not sure why a few people struggle with these kind of prints but I'd assume there are a lot of first time printers on this platform. Thanks for printing and the kind review :)

Great print that was a lot of fun! Only problem here is that he immediately went after our Benchy as if he were Jaws!

The main head section is problematic. There is a small part that is attached to the plate and consistently detaches at some point, causing the head to detach from the main body. With a plate of 7 sharks only 1 printed successfully, 2 had the head attached but the component holding the head onto the body was mangled, and the rest were headless. To remedy this I separated the shark into it’s parts and only applied a brim to the large head piece. The next print was successful.

it broke two time at the same spot, it need a brim around the neck , plus the teeth were to tedious to cut, I ended heating a blade to cut them.

I had bed adhesion issues for quite a while around the jaw. The print pieces are quite small until they join in. I fixed it by increasing the bed temperature quite a bit (cleaning didn't help).
