Description

Like many others, I have a radiator in the bathroom that can be used to dry towels. There are countless hooks and attachments, but I wanted a way to utilize the entire width of the radiator, because we have some very large towels and the lady of the house wanted it height-adjustable

The fastening principle is based on simple leverage.

As a pipe I still had something like this in the cellar: Installationsrohr starr M32 grau 3m bei HORNBACH kaufen

This is just one example and I'm sorry I don't know what it's called in other countries or how to get it. Electricians often use it to lay their cables in houses.

Depending on the width of the heater, you must first print the brackets, measure the distance between the clamps and saw off the pipe accordingly, preferably with a pipe cutter so that the ends are straight (or you have a disk sander like me).

I roughened this gray PVC pipe and embellished it with white spray paint so that it matches the radiator visually.

The holders must be printed from ABS or ASA so that they can withstand the heat of the radiator.

Clamping the holders will only work if something soft is put over the "clamps".
At first I thought of using sealing rings (see the third picture), but then I came across a tube from an aquarium. This fitted perfectly and works wonderfully. It should also work with multiple wrapping with insulating tape.

But perhaps others also have other ideas.

Once again, I had a lot of fun constructing it and realizing that it works. The idea of "clamps" can certainly be used for many other things without having to drill holes. I'll have to think about it...

For anyone who wants to recreate this, I wish you lots of fun and always dry towels.
I have added the *.step files for you to play with.
