After reviewing a number of great models of Bambu Lab printer lid solutions, a couple things happened. First, the most innovative one I found was from @ktothestank with these cool sliding vents HERE. Loved it! Second, I had trouble printing it in PETG and getting good operating clearances… and I am not a fan of ABS at the moment without a full filtration system.

So instead, I decided to go my own path on what I believe is a simple to print and use design that can be adapted to your liking of multiple materials easily.

  • Riser tested in PETG and BL PA-CF filaments and prints very well on the X1-C
  • 4 sections for each corner for the riser and for the TPU gasket for on top
  • small double wedge connectors to hold the frame pieces tight to one another.
  • snug fit to where the glass goes, and the glass is a snug fit on top as well.
  • chamfered angles that others have used on other X1 models so there is no edges to catch on.
  • Uses oval vent holes around the perimeter, with vent closures that fit inside of them in sections
  • A simple perimeter reduction of the vent closures by -0.1mm allows for a firm fit while still being easy to remove on the fly. RESULTS MAY VARY
  • TBU gasket has hole in front to account for the screw heads on the glass lid of the X1-C
  • Printed vent closures in TPU to go with PETG for lower temp filaments
  • Printed vent closures in PETG to go into PA-CF risers for high temperature prints on the second machine.
