The Asus ROG Ally is a great handheld gaming system so I hope a lot of you are getting one for the holidays.

I'd designed a system of magsafe inspired mounts and housings to support the usual accessories that I use with my Ally - External Power Bank / Battery, USB-C Dock, and Stand.

This is for the back mounting plate for the Ally only. I'm going to post the other accessory parts separately.

I have been using this system for close to 6 months now (too lazy to upload). The mounting is very sturdy if you follow my assembly instructions.

*****PLEASE READ ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY*****

1. Prerequisites:
   1. Purchase - 40ea of 4mm by 1mm N52 Magnets https://www.mcmaster.com/5862K402/
   2. Purchase - Superglue
   3. Borrow or purchase - an Iphone Magsafe Battery Bank or Magsafe Charger or Magsafe Mount
2. IMPORTANT NOTE:
   1. I used only N52 magnets because these are the strongest magnets. I have no experience with other kinds.
   2. POLARITY of how you install the magnets are very important so PLEASE use an Iphone Magsafe Battery Bank or Charger or Mount as the base for assembly.
   3. DO NOT use an IPHONE as the base for magnet assembly - this is the REVERSE polarity you want.
3. Print the 2 parts of the mount in this post. You can print the tool as well to help with assembly but I didn't use it.
4. Place the “Ally-Mag Base” on top of your borrowed Iphone Magsafe Mount or Charger. Align the CIRCLE of the Iphone Charger/Mount to the middle of the magnet cavities in the printed “Ally-Mag Base”.
5. Start placing magnets into the magnet cavities one by one. The magnets should stick to the cavities because of the Iphone Charger/Mount below your printed part.
6. Once all magnets are filled up, put a thin layer of super glue in the recessed cavity in the “Ally-Mag Base” and attach the printed “Ally-Mag Base Magnet Cover” on.
7. DO NOT REMOVE THE IPHONE CHARGER/MOUNT until glue is dry.
8. Once glue is fully dried, wait maybe 12 hours, and you can put the Ally-Mag mounting base on your ROG Ally.
