Description

Christmas Pudding tree decoration -

Created primarily to test out various Purge reduction techniques - but I think it came out nice enough to share in its own right.

The multi coloured patterns on the other objects included and created randomly by Bambu Studio due to ‘purge-to’ object being selected.

Designed in Fusion 360 - out of which I number of the photos and renders were produced.

Three different sizes included - the smallest one is a about the size of a posh chocolate.

For each size I have included 3 versions - a) Low purge - With purge-to objects, b) Single Copy (high purge). c). Multiple copies (reduced average purge per pud).

NB/ I have only test printed the small and large sizes - and I did get a few topples with the smaller sizes due to the small base size - so I have added brims to all of the 3mf files - but only test printed the larger size with Brims.

Makerworld wouldn't let me upload the medium sized version as a print profile because I have'nt test printed it - so included it as raw file instead.

Purge was reduced by 50% by specifying a 0.5 purge multiplier and purge to infill.

Purge was then reduced down to less than 5% by including a number of carefully selected objects that can take the purge.

For the smaller version this reduced purge down to <1g

You still get tiny wisps of purge for each colour change - but not the big wasteful spirals you normally get - see pictures.

A very small prime tower is included (5-7g) - as without it BS doesn't seem to do ‘purge-to object’ properly - but I am developing a script to remove it before the print.

Background info on the development of this model and the purge reduction attempts are here https://forum.bambulab.com/t/making-better-use-of-purge-to-object-in-bambu-studio/29422/10

NB/ Some of the purge-to objects for the smaller size are actually for parts of a model I am developing designed purely as a recipient for waste purge - a 3d printed multi colour table - which I will release on Makerworld once I have done enough multi colour prints to produce the first version.

Original inspiration from youtube video by 3d printing professor.

Reduction of purge multiplier to 50% and purge to infill on multi coloured model inspired by Teaching Tech youtube channel.

Most filament used in testing was sponsored by Bambu Lab.
