Description

Reshare/remix from Daniel Josvai on Printables. As the Pumpkin is printed in spiral (vase) mode you have to print it separately from the lid, stem and face parts. Overall you need approx. 250g of filament for a life-size Jack-o'-Lantern 🎃 or 30g for one that fits a LED tealight.

All 4 designs are available via separate plates and no AMS is needed. So be sure to chose matching pumpkin (orange) and face (black) parts.

Instructions

Chose Size (profiles have the size in their name)
1. Life-Size (25,4cm diameter)
  1. There is also a profile available with a hole at the bottom, if you have floor spots to place them on
2. Tealight Size (7,8cm diameter)
Chose design for pumpkin (one per build plate)
1. Monster face
2. Evil face
3. Classic face
4. Cute face
Use orange filament and print the pumpkin and afterwards the lid
Use green or brown filament to print the stem
Note: Lid and stem can be printed in one step on a single build plate with AMS (Plate 3) or separately (Plate 1+2)
Print the matching face in black (one per build plate)
1. Monster face
2. Evil face
3. Classic face
4. Cute face
Glue it all together, lid itself is placed on-top without glue
Put a light source in it for an awesome inverse effect

Prints fine, but as print profile is set to 0.9mm width of line and vase mode, there are some noticeable artifacts, were it under extruded, looks like natural lines for real pumpkin, but still could be a bit better

What filament where you using? The effect might be reduced with 0.8 line width, but the pumpkin is less stable then (still ok, if you do not have small kids). I‘ll try to reflect that in the instructions. For a perfect result you need a bigger nozzle or print at a smaller size.

I used Eryone PLA, and used 0.4 nozzle. And my kids dropped it even, just a small crack, so fine for strength, but the small imperfections look ok like said, but still there. Probably need 0.8mm line width as you say, to have it perfect. I printed smaller and they were all great, 5 starts :) But this is stretching the 0.4 nozzle :/ But print is great :) Model is fantastic and easy to assemble :)

small ones print very good the big ones has some gaps when higher… maybe my printer i dont know

What filament were you using? I tested with Bambu Basic and Overture PLA. Seems like you hit a flow rate limit. Increasing temperature or reducing maximum flow should help.

i used something from the netherlands house brand normally its good it prints everything fine but except the big ones maybe i have to put the printer on slow mode when reaching top
