Designed a visor/shade to protect the display on my Pentair Utlratemp heat pump. I had to replace my display under warranty because the 2nd line became illegible (see picture). The technician who came out to replace it said he's seen quite a few of these cases and thought it might be related to sun exposure (we're in Florida - so this display sees blazing sunlight for most of the day).

While I wasn't 100% convinced of the logic - I figured it cost me nothing but my time to make this potential safeguard.

The shroud makes use of the existing screw in the heat pump cover right above the display. Simply remove the screw, place the shade, put the screw back in.

I printed this in both PETG and ABS (since this needs to live outdoors in the elements) but ultimately chose the clear PETG because it allowed the status light to shine through which makes it easier for me to identify any issue with the pump from far.

Print with enough perimeters to make this durable. I recommend 5 perimeters and 50% infill.

Minimal support is needed to accommodate the offset for the screw clip.
