Description

The Bongle!

Transform any bottle into the coolest and most useful party trick ever! The Bongle is a device that screws onto the neck of most beverage bottles (anything similar in threading to a Coke bottle) and makes it a bong! Obviously to use it, you will still need a glass slider to hold your herbs while you burn them, and the bongle is designed for 14mm glass sliders, which can be cheaply bought. This device is designed to have a 16cm long stem that goes into the bottle, which should fit even the smallest 0.75 litre bottes, while still going as deep as possible to allow the smoke in the bubbles to cool as much as possible while coming back up the water.

I have uploaded another version with a shorter stem of 16cm, which is visible in the picture in grey, and I have also designed a version which does not require a bowl, but directly inserts the join. Check it out on my profile!

I say the model is print in place because I already found some designs of this piece on the internet, but they all seem to have multiple twisting parts which have always made them seem unreliable, so I designed this version myself to have everything working in one piece. It might not look the best, but it is clearly functional, and a lot of air can flow through if wanted.

Attention!

Smoking from plastic is very hazardous. This should not become your go-to piece, or even be used for extended periods of time. First of all, I highly recommend using PETG as the filament for this piece as it is food safe and does not allow bacteria to go onto it or spread in it. Secondly, after each use, if another is intended, you should clean it as you would any other piece, or just use it a few times and print a new one. Only by doing these things you allow yourself to use this piece multiple times, otherwise, it is highly recommended that you don't.

To use:

Pretty simple:

  • fill the bottle until about half!
  • screw it onto the bottle until secure! (sometimes with some bottles it might slip, just twist it until it doesn't)
  • check that all holes in the stem are covered by water: you can add even more if you desire a smaller, cooler hit;
  • fill your glass bowl and put it in the hole on top!

And voila, ready to smoke.

Strength Issue:I may have tightened it too tight. But this broke when I tightened it to the bottle. And when we smoked out of it, it melted

So sorry to hear that! Where did the part melt in particular? I can try to update the model and fix these issues if you help me

there is a stopper just above the threads when screwing, I will see what I can do to strenghten it.

In Australia our bongs usually have a hole that we cover with a finger and release when we're inhaling the smoke, I'm guessing with this you're meant to just lift the bowl?

Either removing the bowl or poking a hole in the bottle works. I could not add a carburetor hole as the air would have gone directly to the mouthpiece, and the smoke remains in the bottle:(
