Description

I've been searching for years for a commercial solution to store and display my headphone collection, but never found anything with enough flexibility. I even looked to repurpose something that wasn't designed for headphones, but still came up empty.

This was literally the idea that convinced me to buy a 3D printer to create my own solution.

Based on @RostaP's brilliant Honeycomb Storage Wall design, I designed this headphone hanger to be wide enough to not damage the headband or padding with undue pressure, and flexible enough to also accommodate storage of the headphone cables using the same part.

There are several versions of the headphone hanger.
Standard Version - This version uses posts inserted into the standard empty inserts from the HSW. This version is easier to print, requires no support, and is easy to move and place anywhere on your HSW. Because these don't lock in place, they can accidentally come out if you're not careful when pulling off a pair of headphones.

Insert Version - This uses built-in locking inserts for a much more sturdy and secure connection to the HSW to handle the heaviest of headphones. This model does require supports (build plate only, tree (auto), Tree Slim style), and is difficult to move once it's locked into place, so only use this version if you're sure of placement and want a semi-permanent type of install. Because they lock in, they won't accidentally fall out when removing a pair of headphones.

I've also included a Standard Version with inserts, which is the Standard Version with a pair of blank inserts included on the same plate… A sort of “all you need in one print” version.

I've also made an optional TPU liner to give the headphone holders a bit of anti-slip grip for keeping the headphones in place. These attach easily with a few dabs of super-glue. The included .3mf file prints with solid edges for super-glue, but with a honeycomb grid in the middle to save filament and match the overall look of the HSW.

For managing headphone cables, simply print two additional of the Standard Version and invert one below the other, and wrap the cables around them. Mounting them with a row between gives enough room to rest the connector (even XLR).

Strength Issue
Other Issues:didn’t fit in storage wall. pegs are spaced too close. broke on both pegs and front trying to put in. 1 star product given 2 stars cause the idea is good. just not pulled off well.
