Description

Model of a splitter for AMS Lite designed for using an external spool without constant disconnecting of the PTFE tube.

Designed for PTFE tubes with an outer diameter of 4 mm and an inner diameter of 2.6 mm. Same as used by BambuLab.

The openings for PTFE tubes are intentionally tighter; try to insert the PTFE as deeply as possible."

  • It is designed above the print head (see the photo, the length of the lower tube is approximately 40 mm).
  • Before installation, it is necessary to disconnect all PTFE tubes and thread them through the splitter."
  • It is necessary to insert the tubes firmly into the splitter to avoid tube falling out or filament jamming. Be cautious about tube crimping or potential breakage.

When not using an external spool, it is necessary to have the filament retracted outside the splitter. This will clear the path for filament from AMS. When using an external spool, it is necessary to do the same, simply rotate the filament spool.

So simple yet so effective, been running this for a few weeks, done many prints using the setup in the picture, feeding the filament from the spools hanging above using the splitter

Thank you! I use this filament hangar (https://makerworld.com/en/models/120259#profileId-129472) and haven't needed to use bearings or anything, even cardboard spools spin freely on them when feeding into the splitter

Thanks! I'm considering an adapter that will better support it in the vertical plane.

Maybe I'm too stupid to print this part, but one hole is definitely too small. Or am I seeing this wrong?

It's fine like this. The hole narrows to guide the filament more effectively.

Works well, I really like the integrated pass-thru cable management. I printed in clear PETG with no issues. Seems to get the job done, thank you!

it did give me a feed error once right after I installed it but haven’t tried to change filament to much since I put it in, it seems like it will do a great job on allowing me to easily throw tpu in without disconnecting anything
