Description

Since the 0.5kg cardboard spools from REDLINE are unfortunately not designed to fit into the AMS and are a bit small, I created this one as part of the CBAS series.

The spool requires approximately 150 grams of filament with 15% infill, making it sturdy and smooth-running rather than lightweight. It has consistently fit perfectly into the spool's core.

12/25 Label space module update

The standard print profile has been changed to the label space module version. As a result, the spool becomes approximately 15 grams heavier but remains fully compatible with the original version.

Profile for the label space modules has been added, only the unlabeled variant - unlabeled also available as .step file.

Assembly

To assemble, first remove a cardboard side of the REDLINE spool and replace it with a printed half, some of the glue residue may need to be removed. Hold the spool and turn it over, then remove the other side, now screw the halves together until they are tight.

The label space module can be inserted into both parts of the spool, preferably when the spool is not yet loaded, and it may require some effort depending on your printer.

It's best to wrap the filament with painter's tape beforehand to prevent it from unwinding on its own.

Accessories

This spool is part of the CBAS series and for those who prefer not to use the holes in the spool to secure the filament, here is the appropriate filament clip:
