Description

This is a Bohr Model Manipulative learning tool for elements 1-18 on the Periodic Table. I purchased adhesive Vinyl for the dry erase squares and cut them up into 1" by 1" squares with a friend's Cricut. https://www.michaels.com/product/oracal-651-permanent-adhesive-vinyl-10629075

 

I'm a middle school science teacher of 10 years in Houston, Texas. I use 3D printers to make my classroom better: both in the form of manipulatives I've designed to help my kids learn and by challenging my students to learn 3D Printing and Design to take their learning of their normal science curriculum to the next level.

This product was my first 3D designed/printed science manipulative (designed in Fusion 360 & TinkerCAD). One day I was using a very similar science manipulative from a science educational supplier (see this link for my inspiration - https://www.3bscientific.com/us/interactive-atomic-model-according-to-bohr-student-set-1005320-w19902,p_1481_14952.html?utm_source=google&utm_campaign=gmc_feed) to help the students learn the Bohr Model of the atom. I thought to myself while looking at the model, “That's quite a simple design; I bet I could make something like that in Fusion 360!” So I did. This product is far, far cheaper, more colorful, and made by a friendly neighborhood science teacher trying to make it big with a side hustle.
