Description

Here is a 9.75" in AR platform handguard I modeled in Shapr3D and Fusion360. I needed my AR pistol handguard shortened a bit and didn't want the hassle of trying to find one, so I created one. It's a perfect fit and snugs up nice with the added holes for brass threaded inserts (M4x8x6mm) that were pressed in with a soldering iron, as well as two M4x12 Hex Socket screws.

This printed nearly flawlessly in Bambu PA6-CF straight from Bambu Handy on my P1S. The supports snapped off very easily and left nothing behind.

printed with nylon cf and printed in silent mode same out beautifully. blue one was petg CF used it as a test came out great and torture tested it bang it on things took a lot of hits and hard before it finally broke

what material is best to use for AR parts? I'm very new at printing so I apologize for my ignorance.

the general rule is PLA+ or better. if you can print material that has a higher “melting” point (Glass Transition) the better tho.

Other Issues:Tried printing it a few times but wasted a lot off filament in the process as the first time it turned into a filament spaghetti nearly halfway through and then multiple layers that shifted , going to try print it diagonally when i get some new filament
