Description

UPDATE 2-16-24: Added 2x4 tall wall carrier to the file repository. Uses the same handle as the Floor/Wall Carrier. Untested, but should print without supports.

Introducing a new way to carry and store your OpenForge tiles! Starting with 2x2 pieces, I created a couple models to help keep your 2x2 dungeon floors and walls organized and efficiently stored.

There are two types of carriers, the Floor/Wall carriers which can be used for both floors and wall tiles and the Wall only carrier. The floor carrier comes in both Tall and Short stack configs. I printed the Tall on my Bambu X1C and the Short Stack on my Prusa mini. The handles can be printed on Prusa mini sized machines at least.

Floor/Wall Carrier

The Floor/Wall carrier (Tall) as the name suggests can be used to store either tile. It can hold up to (according to the pieces I have) 88 Floor tiles (Using Towne Floors) but your mileage may vary depending on the height of tiles you have. The short stack holds about 40. Walls can be stored as well and you can fit about 32 per (tall) carrier and about 16 for the short stack. Again, depending on the type of walls you have it may be more/less. The floor carriers accommodate at least the Towne, Dungeon Stone, Grass, and Cavern Tiles, but most tiles that are 2x2 and dont have much overhang will work!

Wall Only Carrier

The Wall Only carrier comes in only a short config for now, but will fit 40 walls, 10 per stack (using Towne Walls). This may vary with different types of walls, but does work with Dungeon Stone walls as well!

Other Hardware

All carriers are designed to use 2, M3 Heated Inserts for the handle as well as a 8-10mm M3 screw to attach the handle to the body.

More Sizes will be available in the future. Enjoy and leave me comments if you have any questions or suggestions!

How to Print

Print the Floor/Wall carriers with the bottom down and the Wall only carrier Bottom Up. No supports are needed for any file. I just used PLA but you can use whatever you wish!

Pictures

The red body/white handle is the short stack Floor/Wall carrier, the White Body and white handle object similar to the red one is the Tall Version (notice how there are two walls stacked in one of the stacks, that is the proper orientation for storing wall pieces efficiently) and the White body with red handle (with the x pattern) is the Wall Only carrier

---- Lids will be coming in the future as well, so be on the lookout for those!

I printed the floor carrier, the handle is perfect. As for the carrier, I suggest you to lighten it in terms of weight and material used because it is too heavy for transport (300 g empty), maybe with empty sides like the wall carrier. Furthermore, I recommend you closing the structure because the two sides seem fragile compared to the central part which is very solid.

Thanks for the reply! I have toyed with the idea to brace the sides with a support less " inverted V" shape so it doesn't feel flimsy. I do have plans to make the solid walls have holes and do the same "v" supporting as the sides. ill upload a V2 soon :)
