Description

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE PRINTING

Update: I have added profiles that are setup for people with 2 AMS units, and NO AMS units. For the NO AMS profile you will need to manually unload/load your filaments as described in the “Swap Instructions” in the order below at each pause.

This file is optimized for printing with 1 AMS unit as that is what I have. To print this with 1 AMS unit you need to manually switch out your black spool to white when the black has completed and fully retracted. I recommend waiting until the green starts printing, then proceeding to swap out spools as indicated above. (Note when swapping mid print the AMS unit does not auto feed the spool like it does before you start printing, so make sure you push at least three to four inches in and that the light indicator goes on. When it comes time to print the 5th color (white) it will feed as normal.)

If you have two AMS units and wish to use them, make sure you change the last Filament Swap in the slicer to white, or you will end up with a double hit of black.

A filament painting I created for the Halloween Contest, inspired by Luigi's Mansion.

If you have never printed a filament painting by HueForge I think it is important to know there is very little waste compared to other multi color prints you may be used to. The filament will only be purged once per color for the whole project, or in simpler terms, only 4 poops!

Filaments Used:
PLA Bambu Lab Basic Black Transmission Distance: 0.6
PLA Bambu Lab Basic BambuLab Green Transmission Distance: 8
PLA PolyLite Yellow Transmission Distance: 11
PLA Bambu Lab Basic Beige Transmission Distance: 8
PLA Bambu Lab Matte Ivory White Transmission Distance: 4

Swap Instructions:
Start with Black
At layer #12 (1.04mm) swap to Bambu Lab Green
At layer #18 (1.52mm) swap to Yellow
At layer #23 (1.92mm) swap to Beige
At layer #29 (2.4mm) swap to Ivory White for the rest.

Notes:

These files are very large and take a while to slice, so bear with it, and make sure you make all the profile changes and add all your filaments and their individual profiles before you hit slice so you don't have to redo it. Start with the model as black. Once it is sliced the first time the color changes go pretty quick, just use the slider on the right side of the screen in the preview menu. Slide it down to match the Swap instructions above then right click and Change Filament. Slice again each time and continue adding filament changes until you are done. I recommend turning off the “seams” preview once it is sliced because the default color is white so it muddies up the preview. If you don't have the colors above and are going to substitute results will vary.

Tried to make this as simple as possible for new users, as I just started to print about a month ago, and there is a lot this hobby and newbies like me can get overwhelmed.
