FDM printed objects are not inherently food safe even if the filament is said to be food safe simply by the nature of the layering and gaps to harbour organic matter and bacteria.

use a smaller layer height, and it beraly touches the part that we eat

Wood is also layered and has gaps, but we use it with food all the time.
