Valentine's Day Stained Glass Romantic Heart Suncatcher STL 3MF

Let your Valentine know you're thinking of them with this 3D printable holiday gift that's a little bit naughty, and a little bit nice! Part of the GP3D Stained-Glass series of 3D printable home decor, our Romantic Heart Suncatcher is a multi-piece model that's double-sided and ultra-thin to mimic real stained glass.

The pieces are easy to print, and just as easy to put together. Here are all the STL files in the pack, along with suggested colors.

The Top and Bottom should be printed in black. It offers great contrast and is the perfect shade to show off those fishnet stockings. The "panties" can be any color you like. We chose red because it suits the heart shape and Valentine's Day theme. The Legs should be printed in an appropriate skin tone of your choice.

Printing and Building the Multi-Color Heart
The Top and Bottom can be printed with basic settings, but the Color pieces must be printed in exactly 0.16 Layer Height and 0.16 Initial Layer Height. They print just two layers thick (0.32mm). These are the "stained glass" pieces that bring the design together. They must be thin enough to remain slightly translucent so that light can shine through. We recommend printing them on a glass print bed, without glue if possible, so that you get a sleek shine on the surface. If you are using glue, clean the bed first so there's no build-up of old glue beneath.

If you don't have a glass print bed, you may want to "Enable Ironing" in your slicer so that the nozzle goes back over the top surface to make it nice and smooth.

Once all your pieces are printed, think of the model like a puzzle. The Bottom piece has raised edges on the inside for each colored piece to set into. Line them up, then use a few tiny dots of glue to set each color in its position. It should be very obvious what goes where. Use the images above for reference as needed. Add more tiny dots of glue to the underside of the Top piece, press it over the Bottom, and use clothes pins or office clips to secure them tightly until the glue dries.

Important The settings for the colored Stained Glass Panels are crucial. The layer height and initial layer height must be set at 0.16 to ensure they are exactly 0.32mm thick. They will not fit in the recessed areas of the Bottom section if they are any thicker, and may lose their luminescent transparency.
