Description

Desktop Pool Table

This is a really fun little novelty piece that can actually be played like real 8 ball pool. It includes everything you need to start playing your family and friends, and is a really easy, reliable print.

Print Settings:

Pool Table:

The Table requires no support, but there are a few settings I recommend enabling.

  • Enable 'Bridge Mode'
  • Print it with a brim to avoid any warping.
  • 40%+ infill to make the play surface level.

Photographed examples are printed with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.32mm layer height.

I have included 2 versions of the pool table.

  1. Is scaled down in the Z-Axis and is somewhat of a printer torture test for overhangs. With a 0.6mm nozzle, this prints in under 8 hours if successful.
  2. Full height model, easy to print and not much stress for the printer, shallower overhangs. With a 0.6mm nozzle this is a 12 hour print.

Pool Cue's/Triangle:

  • Print with 100% infill.
  • Use a brim.
  • Place vertically on the bed.
  • Clean up the strings with a sharp blade or heat gun.

Balls:

The trickiest bit to get right. After many failed attempts at printing 8mm balls at 120mm/s I used the following settings.

  • Speed: 20mm/s
  • Nozzle: 0.6mm
  • Layer Height: 0.32
  • Bed Adhesion: Brim The crucial thing is to raise the balls off the bed by 1mm in the slicer. Then add support touching build plate. This should give more adhesion to the bed and still be easy enough to pop the balls off the brim.

I really hope you enjoy printing and playing this design! Please review and post pictures of your makes below :) It helps designers a lot :)
